I have a PhD in medicine, a master’s degree in health services management and a diploma in hospital management. I have been a director of the Catalan Institute of Health and the Catalan Health Service (1984-1994), contributing at this stage to the creation of the Catalan health model.
From 1997 to 2000, I held the post of Secretary to the Local Government and Relations with the Parliament of Catalonia, contributing to create a modern Administration. I have worked as a consultant in the healthcare sector in Europe, America and Africa.
I have been a professor at EADA, ESADE and the UOC and collaborating professor at the University of Montreal in Switzerland and Italy. I am currently a member of various Boards of Management, development consulting and coaching services. I was a member of the Executive Board for Sustainability and Progress of the Healthcare System of the Generalitat and President of the Governing Council of Parc de Salut Mar, Barcelona.
I was involved in the creation of the "Life to Years" Program of the Department of Health of the Government of Catalonia in 1986. Later, in my managerial stage at CatSalut, this program depended on my direction. The long term care integration and nursing home areas, in the sector of the elderly, have always been part of my professional activity.
I am one of the creators of the Edad&Vida Foundation (first works of conceptualization December 1999) entity to which I continue to be linked since then. I have been the president of the Program Committee of the 7 editions of the International Congress Disability and Quality of Life.
I am the author of 3 books, and more than a hundred publications in the field of health and long term care integration.
